“There's a definite charm in this Victorian building, close to the beach and transport, that provides a solid base for exploring the Isle of Wight; the homemade marmalade at breakfast is a particularly nice touch. Though rooms can be compact and variable, the staff clearly care about the place, and that personal warmth makes a difference. It's a good choice if you value location and character.”

Excellent Stay with Great Location

comfortable furniture huge tv super clean room deep sleep
The communal lounge had comfortable furniture plus a huge TV screen. A reasonably priced bar was open until 9 PM. The room was completely super clean and had everything I needed. The bed and pillows resulted in a deep sleep for me.
The shower had poor pressure, and the room heated up slowly because of a small electric heater. The room's decor could use an upgrade since the hallway and entrance looked good.
Rooms
9/10
The room included tea and instant coffee. A TV was in the room, and I found the bed comfortable. There was also a water heater for tea and coffee, convenient.
Dining
8/10
Breakfast offered a menu from which I could select items. The items were then freshly prepared for me. The breakfast was tasty, and I appreciated the options available to me each morning .

weak shower pressure narrow double bed
The shower pressure were quite weak, a significant flaw. the provided electric heater barely heated the room. The double bed was narrow. A partner's movement almost caused me to fall out. It is unacceptable that such basic amenities are so insufficient.

the staff was amazing.
The shower had very poor water pressure so it barely worked. the bed was not comfortable, and it had the wrong size mattress. blackout curtains would have been beneficial. I was flooded with light at 6:30 am
